Master Gardener Society of Oakland County

2017 EDUCATIONAL GARDEN CONFERENCE

Each year the Master Gardener Society of Oakland County, Inc. hosts one of the finest educational conferences in the country. This event, which continues to grow and improve, has included top horticultural speakers and authors from around the country. Entitled “Gardening and All That Jazz,” it’s a day-long educational conference held at the Oakland Schools Conference Center in Waterford. It is open to the public, and you need not be a Master Gardener to attend. The event also includes a large garden market of many local vendors and artisans selling garden-related artwork, gifts and plants. Continental breakfast, lunch, snacks and program materials are included. Live jazz by outstanding area jazz musicians is also a feature of the day. These events are geared to the interests of our local enthusiastic gardeners.

This year’s event, our 5th year, will be held on Saturday, April 22, 2017 (Earth Day!).

Keynote speakers this year will be:
- Shawna Coronado
– Designing and Growing a Living Wall;
- Kelly D. Norris
– Plants with Style;
- Jessica Walliser
– Attracting Beneficial Bugs to Your Garden and
- Paul Zammit – The Power of Horticulture.
